30 Hours Free Funded Early Education

We offer 30 hours of free funded childcare to all eligible 3 and 4 year olds (as announced by the Government). The eligibility criteria are as follows:

If your child turns 3 between 1st September 2017 and 31st December 2017 and you are interested in the 30 hours free childcare from January 2018, you MUST register your child with us as soon as possible and definitely before 15th December 2017 (so that we can process your application in time for a January start) otherwise you will only be able to take up the present 15 funded hours and you would have to wait until April 2018 before you are able to then apply for and receive the 30 hours.

Both parents must be working a minimum of 16 hours per week (or a single parent in a lone parent family). The individual gross income must not exceed £100,000 per annum. The child must be 3 years old before 1st September 2017 (for a September start) or from 1st September 2017 children will become eligible in the term following their third birthday.

We pride ourselves on offering flexible childcare and we offer term time only places. We also offer a 'dates' place to parents who work shift patterns which allows their children to be booked in for just the required sessions each month with no minimum requirement.

We are currently registered to accommodate 50 children aged 3-4 years. However, we intend to convert an additional room, which will allow us to take an extra 30 children of this age group.

It has been much publicised in the press that many nurseries and schools will either be opting out of this 30 hour provision or may only be able to offer relatively few of these free 30 hour childcare places because of limited room space.

If you or any of your friends are interested in this offer of 30 hours free childcare then we would advise that you apply early as we expect that demand from parents will be high and places in Castleford will be limited. We will still continue to offer 15 hours free funded childcare for parents who wish to continue with this arrangement.
