Nursery Baby Bears and Bunnies Rooms

We have two modern, purpose built baby rooms for babies aged approx 0-18 months at our nursery in Castleford, (near Normanton, Pontefract and Methley). Here you can be reassured that your baby will receive lots of cuddles and one-to-one play.

Our dedicated staff members provide high quality early learning materials, resources and activities which support young babies to experiment and explore the world around them through a variety of play and sensory experiences.

Baby Bears and Baby Bunnies share their own separate extensive grassed outdoor play area with cradle swings, safety surfacing, sensory play equipment, sand boxes, wall mounted mirrors and a decking area.

Each room is designed to offer both a relaxing yet stimulating environment which promotes and supports the individual learning and development of each baby. Babies enjoy a day full of stimulation and fun – crawling, walking, talking, collage and painting, singing, exploring Treasure Baskets (learning about texture, colour, shape, weight, sound and smell), sand and water play, an abundance of sensory play activities, dressing up, puzzles, small world, role play, nursery rhymes, picture books, building blocks and baking.

Both baby rooms provide a calm, colourful and loving environment where babies are supported by a committed and devoted team of staff members. Each baby is treated as an individual so that their unique needs and routines can be met and their own personalities and characteristics can be developed. Staff are based in each of the two care rooms on as permanent a basis as possible to provide consistency and continuity of care. Each day parents are given a ‘daily record’ sheet to provide them with information about their baby’s milk/food intake, nappy changes, sleep times and special activities enjoyed throughout the day.
